Home Visits

Therapist will arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time in order to allow time for set up. If you are not ready for your massage or are not home, therapist will wait 10 minutes before leaving. If this occurs, prepayment will be required for future bookings.

Designated Space for Massage

Please have a designated space that is large enough to accommodate a massage table and for the therapist to walk around all sides. Please have this designated space decided upon and area ready before the therapist’s arrival. If for any reason client is not ready to begin on time, the length of your session may be shortened in order to allow therapist to get to next appointment on time.

In Office & Home Visits

Cancellations/Missed Appointments

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel an appointment. This is to allow therapist to fill that appointment time. If an appointment is canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or you “no-show” your appointment, 50% of the full service fee will be due. If this occurs more than once, prepayment in full will be required in order to book any future appointments. This will be retained if client no-shows or cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice. Otherwise, it will be applied to the balance on the day of service. This policy also applies whether or not you reschedule for another day or time. If therapist is doing a home visit for two or more people in your home during the same visit (ex: people receiving massages back to back on same day in one location), this policy also applies regardless of how many people cancel or wish to reschedule their service. For example, if two people are booked for massages and one cannot make it, 24 hours’ notice is required. The 50% service fee will be charged if canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice.

For late arrivals to office appointments, session length may be shortened to allow time for next appointment to begin on time. Full payment will be due. We understand things happen -if you are going to be late, please call or text. Please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your appointment time to ensure your session can begin on time.

Payment

Full payment is expected at time of service. Accepted forms of payment: Venmo, Apple Pay, PayPal, cash or credit card.

Sexual Harassment

Massage therapy is strictly non-sexual and we have a zero tolerance sexual harassment policy. This includes harassment of any kind, including but not limited to solicitations for extras, suggestive comments, or inappropriate touch. Should you choose to engage in such behavior, the session will be immediately terminated, you will be charged in full for your appointment, and you will be banned from booking further appointments. Authorities will be contacted at therapist’s discretion.

Hygiene

For the comfort and quality of your experience, clients are asked to arrive freshly showered. As a general guideline, bathing within 12 hours of your appointment is expected. If you have exercised prior to your appointment, please shower before your session. Your therapist reserves the right to modify or decline services if proper hygiene standards are not met, in order to maintain a clean, professional, and respectful environment for all clients.

Scope of practice

Massage therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions nor are they allowed to provide treatment for a specific condition without a doctor’s supervision. The massage therapist is required to refer you for diagnosis and follow recommendations of your physician.

What to expect

Therapist will set up massage table including a table warmer, sheets and a blanket if you desire. Soft music will be played unless you request otherwise. You will be asked to undress to your comfort level allowing for the therapist to work on areas needed. Most people undress down to their underwear but you may wear more clothing if you are more comfortable. The therapist will only undrape the areas she is working on. Otherwise, you will be covered with a sheet and blanket. Draping is mandatory according to state laws. Please inform therapist of any areas you would like to avoid working on.

Your treatment will be customized according to your needs based on therapist’s assessment in conjunction with your needs/wants. The therapist is trained in several modalities and may utilize different methods in order to help reach your goals. During the massage, you may chat with the therapist or be silent and drift off. The therapist will respect this and not initiate conversation. The therapist may ask questions about your exercise habits and what you do for a living to better understand you as a whole and to design a treatment plan that best suits you. This helps the therapist to understand any postural stressors you have (such as sitting at a desk for work, heavy lifting, etc). You must inform therapist of any medical conditions you have and all medications you are taking. This is to ensure there are no contraindications to treatment. If you are currently under the care of a physician, you must check with physician to make sure you can safely receive massage therapy. White Orchid Massage & Wellness is not responsible for any negative outcomes due to undisclosed conditions.

Pregnancy

Massage therapy is contraindicated for pregnancy in the first trimester. You must disclose to your therapist of you are pregnant. You may not receive massage within the first trimester. In the second and third trimester, massage may be performed with your physician’s consent.
